What is the CareerNovaris career assessment?

The CareerNovaris Career Discovery Assessment is designed to help students and emerging professionals organize what they already know about themselves — and notice what they may have been overlooking. Instead of promising a single “perfect career,” it looks for useful patterns across interest, skill and working preference.

The current CareerNovaris test uses a structured RIASEC interest framework and a dual interest–skill rating. The aim is to make the result actionable: where your energy is strongest, where your present skills support that interest, where development could unlock new options, and which paths deserve more exploration before you commit.

Important: CareerNovaris is a career-guidance and self-reflection tool. It is not a clinical, medical or psychological diagnosis, and it should not be treated as the sole basis for an education or career decision.

Why interest and skill both matter

Students are often told to “follow your passion” or “choose what you are good at.” Both pieces matter, but neither tells the whole story. You may enjoy an activity and still be early in developing the relevant skill. You may also be very capable at something you do not want to spend your life doing. CareerNovaris makes that gap visible.

That is useful because career choice is rarely about one trait. It is about the combination of what keeps your attention, what you are prepared to learn, what environments bring out your best work and which opportunities fit the life you want to build.

What the CareerNovaris test explores

  • Career interests: the kinds of activities and problems that naturally attract your attention.
  • Current skill confidence: where you already feel capable and where further development may be needed.
  • RIASEC themes: Realistic, Investigative, Artistic, Social, Enterprising and Conventional patterns.
  • Interest–skill gaps: areas to pursue, develop, explore or deprioritize.
  • Career clusters: examples of fields that may be worth researching rather than prescriptions you must follow.

How to use your result well

A useful assessment result should start a better conversation. Compare the report with your real experiences: subjects you enjoy, projects where time passes quickly, situations that drain you, feedback you repeatedly receive and the kind of problems you voluntarily solve. Then use the result to build small experiments — a course, project, internship, conversation with someone in a field, or a new responsibility.

CareerNovaris is being developed by Novaris Transformation Lab around that principle: insight is valuable when it leads to thoughtful action.
